Some of the best cornbread I've ever had in a restaurant by far. The food was excellent, wait staff and hostess were attentive, great, and personable. The food portions were amazing. The adds that come with dinner for free of bread rolls, coleslaw, sliced and glazed apples, and delicious cornbread was a nice surprise. The meatloaf as you can see in the picture was good portions and delicious. The onion strings were some of the best I've ever had. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. As my first time eating at a restaurant in Illinois I was very pleased and glad my friend suggested it. Three of us got to enjoy appetizers, great meals, our beverages and had to get doggy bags for $100. We ate Rib eye, chicken, and meatloaf with all the trimmings. To me the value was definetly there and the ambiance was great. The fact they also had a gift shop and fresh pies was just the perfect set up.
THIS PLACE WAS AWESOME! Thomas our waiter was very friendly and personable. He gave great suggestion in helping us pick. He told us about the gift shop. Here I was able to fulfill my desire for beautiful coffee cups. I would definitely recommend this place. The fixins were a great start before the meal and great beginning to breakfast the next day 😁
Great family run spot! They feature an extensive gift shop, focusing on rural and farming themes. The food is tasty and fresh, though not overly polished. Think typical diner food but a bit more thoughtfully prepared and with a few more unique and memorble twists. Lots of tasty options for any meal time. Service was great and the environment inside is on theme. Fun tractor outside for the kids (and adults) to sit on.
Great food (Cinnamon roll French toast was excellent and the regular cinnamon roll looked excellent) & service! Manager was accommodating and waitress was super nice even though we had a large group (and had forgotten to get a reservation for the large group). She kept on top of things, made sure we were well taken care of, and we didn't feel like a burden. The shop there had a lot of cute items, and some very useful items (such as cracked hands cream that we got).
Was expecting a Cracker Barrel type restaurant, and while they do have a similar gift shop in front, the food was so much better. Think upscale country cooking (go and you'll understand). Food was excellent (we got parmesan pork chops, meatloaf and a cobb salad) . Wish there was a location closer to us, but would definitely go again if I'm the area.
The bread rolls with homemade butter was delicious, but the banana or pumpkin bread they serve along with the bread rolls at the beginning of the meal are fantastic. Best that I've had. My husband's Hamburger was the absolute best he said, cooked to perfection. I had the Heartland Combo/ a 3 meat pork dinner each piece cooked different with green beans. Out of the 3 pork meats the smoked loin was my favorite. Green beans were top notch. Grandson had the chicken strip with frys and loved them also. The Cole slaw is better than any I've had anywhere else along with the smothered apples. Then to top that off my grandson loved the tractors and implements on the outside. This was our 2nd time to visit, and we're hard to please because we're from Louisiana and we know what good food is. Our grandson picked going here instead of going play at trampoline park. Top pick for a country kid.
Nice restaurant with country vibes, great customer service, great food at reasonable prices. We went to this place for the first time today and had the fish fry experience and it was great. Our server was so nice and friendly and she took great care of us. The food came soon without delays and it was fresh and hot just as it should be. We had grilled and fried cod fish and both were delicious and well seasoned. Our meal also came with pumpkin bread, new to us, and dinner rolls, coleslaw and fried apples to start, and fish dishes came with sweet potato fries and regular French fries and baby carrots. Good size portions and we repeated on the fried cod fish. We will definitely return next time we are in town.
Tonight we held my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary party at the Rockford location. From start to finish Brooke was amazing. She was so helpful with any questions we had. I found her to be personable and very accommodating to the change of party size and booking especially as my dad is very ill which had the potential to not make the event pull through. She asked me if the lighting was ok, music in or off, gave us access to the tv for a video we created for my parents, moved tables for us, let me decorate the room to our needs, and stored my cupcakes for me. She checked in multiple times with us throughout our event and made sure we were well taken care of. She even made small talk with my parents which was huge for me. Our server made sure our drinks were full and our food was prepared exactly as ordered. The food was delicious and plenty of leftovers. Tonight was so special for our family and I am beyond happy with our experience here tonight. My mom and dad left stating this was a night they will never forget!
